About Me

Why a simple kind of life? Well, thats what my husband and I are trying to instill in our family. We are Christians and living a simple life is what God wants for us. I say trying because that is what we are doing. We need to keep that in the forefront of our minds as we go through all the crazy yet unforgettable days a family of four goes through. Life is very busy with a smart and inquisitive four yearold, active, curious, funny 2 1/2 year old and a new baby. As teachers, we enjoy our summers off with our children spending time at the beach, boating or just in our backyard relaxing. We know what and Who is important in this life, but we also can admit that we do enjoy things that don’t really matter like reality TV, good food and my weakness, shopping. All in all its all about balance and keeping God first.

Hunter is 10 months old!

Oh my goodness...where did the time go?  He is so much fun lately but super LOUD!  He screams and laughs all day!  His mouth is always open as you can see below....oh and walking is in the near future!

Snow snow and more snow

Wow...what a winter!  Crazy how much snow we have at the end of January.  We are enjoying the snow as much as we could but we are definitely getting a little stir crazy.

Remembering Summer, Fall and Winter fun

I came across some pictures of some of the fun things that we did as a family this past year. Things that I forgot to blog about. So on this wintry day I am remembering those times with my sweet little Layna.

These are from our trip to Mystic Aquarium.  We went on a special day trip with just our little girl.  She absolutely LOVED the aquarium.  She wanted to give the seals a towel when they got out of the water....So cute.

In the fall we went to a couple fairs.  These are from the Berlin Fair.  Layna loves getting her face painted and eating fried dough.

Lastly was our trip to Santa's Land.  That was an experience.  It is super run down but so much fun for the kids.  Layna loved seeing the animals and riding the rides.  Hunter was too bundled up to do anything.  Maybe next year;)

My little boy is a maniac!

What happened to my sweet little boy?  He is just a maniac!  He is all over the place.  Non-stop on the go.  I clean up a section of the room and he has to destroy it.  When he's in the walker, he flies all over the place crashing into the woodwork and walls.  He bites on my refrigerator handles, pulls the bottom oven drawer out and picks up my cooking stoneware and he is already trying to open the bathroom door when someone is in there...hes close too....which is scary.  His eating habits are outrageous.  He will bang on his high chair until he gets something on his tray and if its cheerios he will give them to Dallas.  Like hes over cheerios at 10 months old. Never mind changing his diaper or his clothes, you have to pin him down in order to do that.  When its bath time, he causes a flood so we have to close the curtain of the bathtub in order to prevent a monsoon by his constant splashing and jumping.  He is also super strong.....when hes in the walker Layna hops on the back and he "drives" her around the house and when Layna gets in the walker he grabs the bottom with ONE hand while laying on the ground and holds on sliding across the floor.  The kid is CRAZY!

Layna at 10 months old was so sweet; played with a couple toys, she was gentle and even neat when she ate.

Boys and girls are so different.

Here's a video of Hunter playing with Dallas, his pal.

2011 Aspirations

Aspirations sound much better then resolutions.  I think that word just sets you up for failure.
This year is going to be our year..... Layna will turn 3 and Hunter 1!
Some things on our to do list include:

1.  Talk to God regularly about life's decisions.  Let Him guide us in ALL that we do.
2.  Relax this summer with NO house projects.  We want to be able to go to the beach more and hang out with the kids instead of stressing over projects.
3. Enjoy the moment instead of looking onto the next. Whether its just playing outside with the kids or reading a book, enjoy it and do not stress about the house being clean or the aundry being done.
4.  Get more involved with our church family.
5.  Continue on our journey of financial peace.
6.  Be a better parent and spouse.  We can always do better at this;)

2010 Wrap up

What a year for our family.  As the beginning of the year hit, I started to get bigger and bigger......

I knew Hunter was going to be a big boy when he was born.  On March 29th (his due date) Hunter Thomas Bialek entered into our world and our lives will never be the same.

Layna and Hunter began their sibling bond that they will have forever.  Layna just adores him.

Hunter hit many milestones like sitting up, crawling, cruising, clapping, waving, saying da da and hi.

While Layna's vocabulary took off after our summer trip to Block Island.  They always said once she starts talking she will not stop and that has definitely happened.  Some of the things that come out of her mouth amaze me.

Layna turned 2 in June.  We celebrated with a party at our home.  She had a lot of fun except when when we sang Happy Birthday to her

We ended the year with Hunters' dedication and Christmas.  Christmas was fun for all of us.  Layna was excited to sing "happy birthday" for Jesus and we enjoyed a little cake to celebrate what Christmas is all about.  We left cookies and strawberry milk for Santa.  Layna enjoyed all the excitement Christmas brought  and Hunter just went with the flow.  He enjoyed eating wrapping paper and playing with the many family and friends that visited us.  Hunter is definitely not a shy little guy, he just loved making people smile with his funny little laugh, his goofy facial expressions or his wild little antics.

TJ and I enjoyed this year with our little ones.  They make life so interesting and fulfilling.  We are so blessed with this life and couldn't of asked for a better year.  Bring on 2011!
